Heavenly Father, Help me to turn to you:
When I need a friend - or am surrounded by friends;
When my heart beats fast - and my faith is slow to respond;
When I'm in pain - or when I have caused pain;
When I need to forgive - or be forgiven;
When the night is long - and the sunrise brilliant;
When my life is full - and my heart isn't;
When I search for joy - and it's right here in me;
When I need to console - or be consoled;
When I speak of good things - and fall short of doing them;
When I encourage others - and when I need encouragement;
When I'm enduring grief - and when others are grieving;
When I smile at strangers - and when they smile at me.
Help me to turn to you. To Praise. To Ask. To Share. To Thank. Amen
-Beth Williams
