I grew up in the PNW (Pacific Northwest for non-PNWesterners)
I now hail from Arizona. Yes, the desert.
People often ask me about the change from wet, lush, green to…well…the hot, dry desert. My answer: I love them both.
While I can no longer take a cold winter, I can enjoy a PNW summer. And I do enjoy a winter night in the desert with clear starry skies and a chill on a breeze.
But neither of these things make you cozy. In short, cozy is a mindset. Notice I didn’t say comfortable. Simply Cozy is about embracing simple moments, adding coze and enjoying life regardless of the stress or chaos surrounding us. We can’t always be comfortable, but we can have an approach of peace during life’s challenges.
Simply put, we may not have control over an overbearing boss or a cranky teenager. But we do have this: The ability to change our mindset and be cozy regardless of our circumstances.
My goal is simple. Spread good. Give hope. One cozy idea at a time.
If you feel led to do so, join me. Here we coze!

Our Golden Retriever Nala and I at the Sunset rest stop about an hour north of Phoenix, AZ. We stop here on most road trips that take us north.
Why Not? The world can seem out-of-control at times. Why not spend some time making our lives the best they can be regardless of our circumstances? We hope to spread good one simple idea at a time.

2. Where do your quotes come from? If the author is known, I'll give them credit. Many of the quotes are from my writings over the years.
3. Do you have a family? My husband and I have five amazing, talented grown children between us, two adorable grandchildren and a golden retriever named Nala. Yes, she is named after Simba's friend in the Lion King. Nala can catch a flying frisbee, smiles like a goldie and road trips with us several times a year.
Entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk said: Kindness is the Strength. If you're strong, you give. If you're weak, you take. This isn't to say receiving something is bad, most of us receive things every day: shelter, meals, a kind message, etc. But it does make you wonder: Is our 'get' getting in the way of our 'give'?
The word 'give' is stated in the Bible 900-1100 times, depending on which translation you read. Three times more than 'love', and yet 'love' is the ultimate commandment.
Why mention giving so many times and why is giving a strength?
I suspect the word love, to use today's expression can be complicated. Love everyone, even the cranky ones. Whereas 'give' gives us an opening to do something, anything. It's more straight forward. We may not be fully onboard to love the neighborhood bully, but we can give: a smile, a kind word - and it doesn't cost us anything. We can certainly give our time, talents and treasures as well - and this will happen once we cultivate our Spirit of Give.
The Creator of the Universe knew we couldn't always get there simply by saying it - so we were given numerous examples of 'give' as an illustration.
A few examples:
Proverbs 18:16 A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the great.
2 Corinthians 9:7 You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”
Proverbs 25:21 If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. (Political adversaries, take note!)
I think of it as 'when in doubt, give'.
May we cultivate a spirit of give!
